Roger Barga, Amazon

Roger Barga Director, Amazon Web Services.
Roger was a group manager in the Microsoft Cloud Machine Learning group, responsible for defining product strategy and directing development efforts to build a cloud service for data science and machine learning on Windows Azure.
Previously, Roger was an architect in the eXtreme Computing Group (XCG) group of Microsoft Research, where he led a technical team that built services for large-scale computing and data analytics on Windows Azure. He also led the Advanced Research Tools and Services (ARTS) team in Microsoft Research, which built services and tools for data intensive research.
Roger joined Microsoft in 1997 as a researcher in the Database Group of Microsoft Research, where he participated in both systems research and product development efforts in database, workflow, and stream processing systems.
