Automating macro migration in data warehouse replatforming initiatives

San Francisco – December 8, 2017 – Datometry, the pioneer in Adaptive Data Virtualization, today announces general availability of the latest version of its flagship software product, Datometry® Hyper-Q™ version 3.1 with support for Teradata Data Warehouse macros.

Macros are commonly used in data warehouses to perform complex, pre-defined tasks primarily around analytical reporting and periodic maintenance operations. With Hyper-Q version 3.1, macros from existing Teradata data warehouses can be created and executed immediately on any modern data warehouse in the cloud.

Mohamed Soliman, Chief Architect at Datometry, says, “Adding support for macros in this latest release of Hyper-Q has eliminated the time, cost, and risk associated with devising an alternative framework for pre-defined tasks, porting existing macros to the new framework, and integrating the new framework with existing applications and tools. Instead, all existing macros in the mature data warehouse are transferred to the modern data warehouse seamlessly as part of the automatic schema migration performed by Datometry qShift™ and are immediately available for execution on the modern data warehouse.”

Mike Waas, CEO and Founder of Datometry, adds: “With the new functionality of automating support for existing macros on modern data warehouses, enterprises will find once more that Hyper-Q is continuing to streamline and speed up cloud-first data warehouse replatforming initiatives. Enterprises can realize significant CAPEX and OPEX savings immediately.”

Datometry partners with leading cloud service providers and database vendors including Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Pivotal, and Snowflake and is available on Microsoft Azure MarketplaceAWS Marketplace, and Pivotal Network.
