IoT Global Awards shortlists — McObject in two categories McObject named in Big Data & Analytics and Industry & Construction categories

13 March 2018, London, New York, Seattle: McObject®, developer of the ultra-fast eXtremeDB® database management system, announced today that it has been shortlisted for The IoT Global Awards in two categories. Its work with ViaSat in helping to implement a new, state-of-the-art satellite network optimization application was chosen as a finalist in the Big Data & Analytics category, while its role in helping Schneider Electric create a seamless building automation system earned a finalist place in the Industry & Construction category. In both cases, McObject’s clients opted to employ eXtremeDB to gain a competitive edge and take full advantage of the market-leading technology it offers to achieve their business goals.

Steve Graves, CEO and founder of McObject, commented: “Our work being recognized by these awards as one of the most innovative applications for IoT is excellent news and only adds to the satisfaction the whole team feels in providing our clients with real value. As always, we’ll continue to dedicate our time and effort to developing the most advanced database technology possible to provide our customers with outstanding solutions.”

The IoT Global Awards showcase the very best in IoT innovation for both user and provider, their mission being to discover the leading company, product and individual talent in the industry. With a panel of judges from some of the most highly-esteemed corporations in the field, the awards offer organizations a unique opportunity to demonstrate how valuable their work is to the cause of the Internet of Things.

Global broadband services and technology company ViaSat chose eXtremeDB to identify abnormalities in its ground-system elements because of its high-level performance and applicability with around 1 million metric entries captured per second, the analysis of which it could use to optimize and scale operations across its many projects. Meanwhile, the multinational corporation specializing in energy management and automation solutions, Schneider Electric, decided to use eXtremeDB because of its minimal hardware and maintenance costs as well as its ability to run entirely from memory. eXtremeDB’s efficient use of memory and market-leading small code size, combined with an attractive price point, enabled soaring device performance and eliminated unnecessary operation costs for the client.

The winners of the awards will be announced on March 21st.
