Harald Schöning

Harald Schöning is Senior Architect in the XML integration department at Software AG (Darmstadt, Germany). He is responsible for the design of Software AG's new product suite, including the SOA repository CentraSite which is the integrating center piece of this suite.

Harald holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Kaiserslautern. He has been involved in object-oriented and database software technology since 1987. This includes work on the design of a complex-object database system, and as an architect of Tamino, Software AG's native XML database.

Harald also has given lectures at various universities and teaches courses for the "Deutsche Informatik Akademie". He's the author of books on complex object databases and on XML and databases (in German) and co-author of a book on XQuery (in German). Harald is member of the executive committee of the database group of the German computer science association "Gesellschaft für Informatik".
