Oreste Signore
Oreste Signore is full time staff member of the National Research Council (C.N.R.)
since 1973 and manager of the W3C Office
in Italy, hosted by C.N.R. He is now Technolgy Director at Istituto di Scienza
e Tecnologie dell' Informazione "A. Faedo" (ISTI), the new C.N.R. Institute born
from the fusion of CNUCE and I.E.I.
His scientific interests are in the area of Information Systems, covering database,
conceptual modelling, hypermedia, user interface, web applications, information
retrieval, software engineering (with emphasis on reverse engineering).
He is author of more than 200 books, papers, presentations in national and international
journals and conference. He had a relevant role in defining national standards for
the cultural heritage.
His present interests are in Semantic Web, adaptive systems, and web sites quality.
He has been deeply involved in the definition of requirements for accessibility
of public web sites.
