Big Data Analytics Company Announces Compatibility With Apache Spark and Partnership With Cognitive Data Science Company DataRPM
CAMBRIDGE, MA–(Marketwired – Mar 28, 2016) – Big data analytics company Tamr, Inc. announced compatibility with Apache Spark today. Tamr is currently working with customers including GE, Toyota Motors Europe, GlaxoSmithKline and others to unify their data for making better decisions with better data. Spark’s in-memory architecture is ideal for scalable machine learning and greatly compliments Tamr’s human-guided, machine-driven approach to enterprise data preparation.
“Our customers are typically operating with hundreds of data sources and have dozens of consumers for that data. Adding Spark compatibility to Tamr ensures that we can continue to scale with our customers, differentiating us from data preparation tools designed for individual users working with a handful of data sources,” said Nidhi Aggarwal, head of product and strategy at Tamr.
Beyond product compatibility with Spark, Tamr is developing open interfaces and core components to support data curation solutions powered by Spark. This common toolset will support scalable application development for verticals from procurement to customer data integration, life sciences, and more.
Tamr also announced today that it is partnering with cognitive data science company DataRPM. “We are thrilled to add DataRPM to our list of strategic partners. Together we are working with some of the largest corporations in the world to help them view data volume and data variety not as obstacles, but as a strategic advantage and differentiator. Partnering with DataRPM provides our customers with a value driven application for Predictions and Recommendations through DataRPM’s cutting-edge Cognitive Data Science Platform,” said Aggarwal.
Sundeep Sanghavi, CEO and co-founder of Data RPM, added, “We have seen that data quality is a huge problem, and this is not a human-scale issue, it’s a machine-scale issue. Tamr’s enterprise data preparation platform quickly cleans and unifies heterogeneous data at scale, greatly reducing the time spent preparing data for analysis. Partnering with Tamr further strengthens our mission to automate data science and machine learning all the way from ingestion to insights.”
