On Innovation

In 2006, I started this series of conversations on innovation out of a deep curiosity and genuine admiration for the people who are building and shaping the future of technology — because I believe the most valuable insights about where we are headed come directly from those who are making it happen.

Over nearly two decades, I have had the privilege of speaking with some of the most remarkable minds in computer science and technology — from Vinton G. Cerf and Alan Kay to Bjarne Stroustrup, Jimmy Wales, Scott McNealy, and Philippe Kahn — each conversation an attempt to understand not just what they built, but how they think about what comes next. These interviews remain freely available because I believe that knowledge about innovation belongs to everyone.

Should I become an Entrepreneur?

Should I become an entrepreneur? It is one of the most consequential questions a professional can ask — and one that deserves more than a list of tips or a motivational checklist. This workshop presentation, originally developed for a series of lectures on Entrepreneurship at the Goethe University of Frankfurt and at UC Berkeley, approaches the question differently: as a structured self-assessment designed to surface the patterns of behaviour — around risk, money, and work — that we have absorbed from our upbringing, education, and environment, often without realising it. The goal is not to give you an answer, but to help you find your own honest starting point. Download the presentation freely and use it as a tool for individual reflection or group discussion.
