Bob Carasik is a Systems Architect at Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco, California. He specializes in content and image management systems. Bob’s is part of the Operations and Corporate Technology Architecture group where he makes design decisions and technical recommendations for projects. He also develops standards in the areas of middleware, XML messaging, and meta data.

Throughout his career, Bob’s mission has been to filter out the hype and help the enterprise adopt new technologies in a disciplined way. Recently, He has focused on Web Services technologies. He has helped to catalyze the use of UML in several application integration projects. Bob developed the open source strategy at Wells.

In past jobs, Bob has led research projects in groupware, logic databases, CORBA component interfaces, and conceptual modeling approaches. He has developed data acquisition and document management systems.

Bob has a degree in creative writing from the University of Michigan, and an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford. He has served on the adjunct faculty at the University of San Francisco. Some of his recent speaking engagements include Meta Data 2002, XML DevCon 2001, and the UML Forum (Tokyo) 2005.
