European Commission: Strategy to promote data-driven economy in the EU.
July 7, 2014
Dear Stakeholders,
I am pleased to inform you that the European Commission has just adopted its first strategy to promote the data-driven economy in the EU.
This is a response to the European Council’s call, in October 2013, for EU action to provide the right framework conditions for a single market for big data and cloud computing. The Communication describes the features of the data-driven economy, including cloud computing, and sets out operational conclusions to support and accelerate the transition towards it.
You can find the text of the Communication and Staff Working Document HERE. (https://ec.europa.eu/digital-agenda/en/news/communication-data-driven-economy)
