Bernd Amann
Bernd Amann is professor at the Université de Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6) where he joined the database research team of the LIP6 laboratory.
Bernd got his Engineer’s degree in Computer Science from the Technical University of Vienna in 1988. Afterwards he spent four years (1989-1994) in the Verso database team at INRIA-Rocquencourt, France, where he obtained his Ph.D. degree in Computer Sciene from the Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers (CNAM), Paris. From 1994 to 2004, he was assistant professor at the Vertigo team (Cedric/CNAM-Paris) and scientific collaborator at INRIA.
His current research activities concern service-oriented data management and integration. In particular, he’s interested in database-oriented models and algorithms for service discovery, service composition and service classification. He contributed to research activities that have been published in various national and international conferences, journals and workshops. His academic teaching activities concern relational databases, XML data management, Web services and semantic Web technologies.
