Etisis uses Perst in Their Mobile Ticketing System to Maximize Customer Service and Sales

Federal Way, WA, USA and Guadalajara, Mexico, March 1, 2023— Transportation companies and customers alike benefit from the convenience and flexibility of mobile ticketing systems. Etisis has been developing quality software applications for the transportation industry for over 15 years. They chose the Perst™ embedded database management system (DBMS) from McObject® LLC, “to embrace the object-oriented programming (OOP) paradigm without the need of object-relational mapping (ORM)”. Ticketing information is stored in Perst and transferred in the background to a server using LTE or WiFi when networks are available.

Sergio Norzagaray, lead developer on the project stated, “Two years ago, we evaluated several database management systems and then chose Perst. We can write clean and maintainable code with Perst since objects are managed natively. The Etisis app is used at bus stop facilities in a semi-connected environment, so we needed a fast, reliable, resilient database. Efficiency is also taken into account, since the devices are battery powered and used in places where there may or may not be other power sources.”

Perst offers an all-Java, open source, object-oriented embedded database for Android, the mobile device platform backed by Google and the Open Handset Alliance.

“Perst was developed to provide developers in Java and C# with a convenient and powerful mechanism to deal with large volumes of data,” said Andrei Gorine, McObject’s CTO and co-founder. “Our goal is to provide innovative companies like Etisis with the data management tools they need to make exceptional products for their customers. Our mission is to give companies a competitive edge.”
