Dr. Liang Zhou leads the research and engineering efforts in creating and delivering advanced analytics to Thomson Reuters’ clients via desktop terminals and high-speed feeds in financial services. Her focus is in natural language processing, machine learning, and search. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters Financial & Risk division, she was a senior scientist in the Corporate Technology division focusing on quantitative research, predictive modeling, and intelligent applications that have been deployed in various TR high visibility products.
Liang started off her career working in a research institute focusing on and leading advanced research for defense agencies. She had previously worked at BearSterns and JPMorgan Investment Bank concentrating on pricing analytics and exotic product modeling for Fixed Income products. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in Computer Science with specialization in Intelligent Systems (artificial intelligence), and a master’s degree from Stanford University in Computer Science with specialization in Database.
