Sabrina Juran, United Nations Population Fund
Sabrina Juran has been working with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) since 2008 and assumed her position as Technical Specialist, Data and Research in 2010. During her career at the Fund, Ms. Juran has worked in all major areas of the field of sociology and demography. Within her capacity as Technical Specialist she works on supporting countries in conducting traditional statistical exercises (population and housing censuses, demographic and health surveys, etc.) and new innovations in the area of big data, digitization and communication, particularly developing capacity for utilizing digital data sources and real-time analysis techniques for sustainable development.
She is currently involved in a number of data exploration projects with partners such as UN Global Pulse, Google, Orange, New York University, Yale School of Medicine, etc. Since 2014, Sabrina Juran is also contributing part time to the Paris21 project Informing a Data Revolution. In addition to her work, Ms. Juran is currently pursuing her Ph.D. studies in Sociology at Humboldt University in Berlin.
